A balanced month: how many posts per theme

Each of your posts, on its own, is fine. The month as a whole tells another story: eleven product posts, two behind-the-scenes, and none explaining how to order.

Every account tilts the same way

Towards product. It is what is at hand, what you just finished, and the easiest thing to photograph. Without a plan, eight in ten posts end up as a shop window.

The problem is that a shop window only converts people who already decided to buy. Whoever is still deciding needs something else, and that something is what gets left out.

A starting distribution

For twelve posts a month. Not a law, a point to adjust from.

  • Four answering questions. That is what brings new people in.
  • Three of proof: delivered work, customer, result.
  • Three behind the scenes: how it is made, why it is like that.
  • Two direct sales: what is available, how to order.

Look at the month from above before publishing

With the twelve posts listed on one page, the imbalance jumps out in ten seconds. Without that view, it only shows at the end of the month, when it is too late to fix.

It is the only reason planning by month beats planning by week. A week shows no proportion at all.

Adjust over time, not every month

Changing the distribution every month makes it impossible to know what worked. Keep it for three months, look at the numbers, then change one thing.

And the adjustment is usually obvious when it comes: if plenty of people see and nobody buys, direct sales posts are missing. If nobody sees, answered questions are missing.

The whole-month view, with themes separated, is ReadyMonth's main screen.
